La Isla magazine, founded in 1999 on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina originally as a general interest magazine for the newly growing immigrant Hispanic population is now a full-service multimedia company. La Isla and it sister brand LatinXtoday.com offer innovative media advertising through print, social media, digital media, video production, programing and events. La Isla, now fully bilingual; has become a trusted household name that is sought after and trusted by both the Latino and business community. La Isla magazine now reaches over 80,000 readers per month through both it’s print and digital issues and has become a national award winning regional publication that is distributed throughout the coastal regions of South Carolina and Georgia. Our publication is a free monthly high gloss magazine that has over 700 distribution points that covers 11 counties and 40 zip codes.
During the last decade, La Isla has evolved into the digital realm of services by leveraging our loyal followers needs and creating a news and information program and website named LatinXtoday.com. LatinXtoday.com’s news program is streamed weekly through Facebook and YouTube and is intended to give our community direct access to up to date information impacting their lives on a timelier basis. In addition to these services, La Isla also provides translation, interpreting and marketing consulting for our clients that are seeking the complete solution to reaching the Hispanic Market.

The Lowcountry Immigration Coalition (LIC) is a grassroots and non-profit (501C-3) organization dedicated to fighting for the rights of immigrants and to finding a fair solution to immigration reform.
In 2010, La Isla Magazine along with a group of good people concerned with migratory conditions of Latino Families in our area encouraged the official creation of LIC.
George Kanuck currently holds the position of co-chair, together with Eric Esquivel, La Isla’s Publisher, a role fulfilled voluntarily and without any economic benefit.
